"Carrie, I can't thank you enough for all the work you have done with Spencer and Kacee.... to see how Kacee's confidence has improved at home is amazing. She does not run away from people like she used to (still barks like crazy), but warms up to people a lot faster. I think your class has also created a bond between Spencer, Kacee and myself. For that, I am forever grateful."
"I am so excited about the news I am going to share...... Spencer completed Level II last night with Sylvia and you are never going to believe this......he received the 1st place ribbon. I was so proud of him and thankful for all the work you have done.
If you would like to add that not only did he complete Level II training but he finished 1st. Considering he was not able to do a training class before you, that is quite an accomplishment. If you would like to add this bit to the testimonials I sent earlier, that would be great."

"I have seen transformations that have been nothing short of astounding. A dog who came to my training class terrified walked in relaxed with a wagging tail after just a few short sessions with Carrie. Fear is a very unpleasant emotion and compromises a dog’s quality of life. Carrie’s fear therapy programs give fearful dogs a new lease on life and their owners the peace of mind of knowing that their dog feels safe and happy."

"I just wanted to take a moment and mention how great I think your program is and how grateful I am to be able to send clients there knowing they are in the best of hands.
Since 97% of dog bites are due to fear it is definitely an important issue and not one to be taken lightly . Not only am I confident in your abilities and your program but I've seen the results first hand. I've sent many clients who's dogs were once very fearful and after working through your programs, came back a happier more confident dogs.
Keep up the good work :o)"

"Many thanks to Carrie Cleghorn for helping me with Oscar. He was an obsessive humane society adoption that I was realized I was unprepared to deal with alone. I have spent many hours working with Oscar, but his progress had plateaued. Carrie was innovative with ideas to help me continue progressing with Oscar and turning him into a normal dog and a more social pet. He still has a way to go, but I do feel much more comfortable with him in strange situations and when strangers are in the house. "

"Carrie's development of the Fear Rehabilitation Program has been a god-send for many dogs suffering from various stages of shyness and fear. Often these dogs can not be placed into a classroom setting, so I am thankful that I have her clinic to refer to when I get a call from a concerning owner who needs help in not only understanding their dog's behaviour, but implementing a proper behaviour modification plan. The techniques she uses have proven to be successful in not only helping these dogs cope with their fears, but often the rewards are unimaginable when you see the dog transform into a confident, capable and social dog that they were meant to be. "What makes a good mentor teacher? My definition is; someone who leads by example, someone who is open to sharing, willing to learn, and willing to take on a challenge to inspire and support success. I watched Carrie adapt a program under fire for a challenging dog. She was willing and able to brain storm with this educated dog owner, to find a way to work with her dog to improve her behaviour. Carrie is willing to go the extra mile, to do extra research and consult with other trainers when necessary, to find the information needed to help all her clients. I am that dog owner… challenging dog. We had a “Eureka” moment the other day, the reason we did is because Carrie was willing to take on a tougher dog, and work slowly and steadily at the dog’s pace – not the owner’s pace or anyone else's. While managing a tougher dog, she was also willing to guide and teach me. To me, that is what makes a great mentor!"Anon Client
"Hi Carrie, I just wanted to give you an update on Benji (Norma Jeanne may already have told you). Benji started to play with all the other dogs today in class!!!! At the start of class it was just like all the other classes he was so scared and wanted the other dogs to stay away. Than all of a sudden he wanted to sniff the other dogs and than he wanted to play. By the end of class he did not want to leave anymore. He loved it!! I was so happy and proud of him. Yay Benji. Thanks so much for working with him."Sandra & Benji
"I would like to vote for Carrie Cleghorn for all of the categories she is nominated for. She helped my dog Sonny immensely when I was having difficulty with him around other dogs"Dawn & Sonny
"I would like to put my vote in for Carrie Cleghorn and Madison Cleghorn for guiding their shy puppy socials. Carrie's knowledge and encouragement and Madison's enthusiasm and gentle loveable nature helped make a tremendous difference in my dog Sully's life. Being attacked at three months by an older dog, Sully's fears for other dogs were so severe that he did not want to leave the house. It always took a long time to encourage him to go for a walk, and when he finally did go out, he would be dragging me home before we made it the end of the driveway. At times, he even had to be carried which was difficult as he is a Shepherd Lab X. The first time we attended the shy dog social, Sully was terrified. It didn't take long to change that. After attending for just a few months Sully is instigating play with the other dogs, even new dogs to the class that he doesn't know. With Carrie's encouragement, patience, kindness, and just a natural ability to make a dog feel safe, we've seen a tremendous improvement with Sully's fearful behaviours. Madison always knows when to approach or intervene, and she is just a bundle of joy. Thanks to the both of them, Sully has come a long way, and it makes life for all of us that much happier. "I had the pleasure of meeting Madison in Carrie’s Canine Confidence Building class. To those who do not understand why she is there, Madison looks as though she is doing nothing more than hang out. For those who understand the power of a calm, relaxed, non-intimidating dog to a shy dog’s recovery and growth, she is doing plenty. I have seen Madison lie down to calm a shy, fearful dog, asking it ever so nicely to come and play. A second later, she will roll a pushy one to teach it how to behave. At another time, she will simply walk away from a tense situation, as she a very good indicator of how the dogs are feeling. It is a lot of work for a tiny little girl that I am sure just wants to hang out. For those who have fearful dogs, Madison is a great resource, teaching our dogs to feel safe as they learn the fine art of getting along. "Anon Client
